Photograph Portfolio
Abstract Light
05/02/2011This project evolved out of a few projects in a color photography class. The first dabble in abstract photos was for a project in response to the film "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly". Inspried by the blurry images in the beginning of the movie I found various abstract images when inspecting the things around me. In the night photography assignment I continued down the abstract them and stumbled across the idea to photograph flashlights. The results of this is part luck and part mastering a new technique. These images are the result of this project.
Behind the Walls
05/02/2011The project started with the question, "If you could photograph something you know nothing about, what would it be?". My initial response was a place that I have never visited. Upon further thought, I came up with the idea of photographing the production of the products that we use everyday. Eventually the project evolved into photographing the things that make the way we live possible that we rarely see. I wanted to focus on the La Crosse area because I have lived here most of my life and many of these things have been hidden from me, out of sight in buildings or in places that I normally don't go. This has been an interesting discovery of what is in various buildings that I have seen throughout my life, but never had a chance to enter.
